Apply Now for Research Foundation Grants – Deadline is March 1, 2018

The Research Foundation of the ASCRS offers grant funding for research projects related to colon and rectal diseases.

The deadline for applications is March 1, 2018.

  • Limited Project Grants provide funding up to $50,000 for research germane to the field of colon and rectal surgery.
  • General Surgery Resident Research Initiation Grants provide funding up to $20,000 for general surgery residents to engage in clinical or laboratory-based research focused on the diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.  
  • Medical Student Research Initiation Grants provide up to $4,000 for a three or four-month research project during the summer. Medical students may participate in clinical or laboratory-based research focused on diseases of the colon, rectum and anus.
  • Training in Research Methodology Grant provides funding to attend the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) Career Development Course, the Fundamentals of Surgical Research Course or the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Health Services Research Methods Course.
  • Residents and/or clinical investigators who seek research support may apply for an International Fellowship Grant, which provides up to $50,000 in support for investigators traveling to do research.
