2016 ASCRS Annual Meeting Featured SpeakersThe ASCRS congratulates the following members who were recently honored in the news:

Allen Chudzinski, MD, was recently featured in the article, “Florida Hospital Physician Group Welcomes New Colon & Rectal Surgeon,” published in Virtual-Strategy Magazine. Dr. Chudzinski will serve as Medical Director for the Advanced Center for Colorectal Surgery, a part of the Digestive Health Institute at Florida Hospital Tampa.

Conor P. Delaney, MD, PhD, recently was promoted to the position of chairman of the Digestive Disease Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is in charge of the colorectal surgery, gastroenterology and surgery departments.

Samantha Hendren, MD, was recently featured in the article, “More People Under 50 Getting Colon Cancer, Analysis Finds,” published in the Chicago Tribune.

Steven Hunt, MD, recently became program director for colon and rectal surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.

Julian Sanchez, MD, was recently featured in an article, “Five Colon Cancer Symptoms to Pay Attention To” published in SELF Magazine.

Michael Stamos, MD, has been appointed interim dean of the UC Irvine School of Medicine in Irvine, CA. Dr. Stamos is the vice president of the ASCRS Research Foundation and past president of the ASCRS.

H. David Vargas, MD, is now program director at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Vargas is a member of the Program Planning Committee.
