ASCRS Research Foundation Raises $72,550 in “Challenge” at Boston Annual Meeting

The ASCRS Research Foundation raised $72,550 during the 11th annual "Meet the Challenge" program, held during the opening reception of the 2015 Annual Meeting in Boston, MA.

Industry partners Covidien, Edwards Lifesciences, Karl Storz Endoscopy, Novadaq Corp., Pacira Pharmaceuticals Inc., and twelve Regional Colon and Rectal Societies pledged a total of $41,550 for the event. ASCRS members contributed an additional $31,000, thereby raising $72,550 to support Research Foundation grants and awards.

"We are grateful to everyone who contributed. Proceeds will be used to support research programs in colon and rectal surgery, including Limited Project Grants, Career Development Awards, Medical Student and General Surgery Resident Research Initiation Grants, the International Fellowship and the Request for Proposal for Clinical Studies on Benign Colorectal Disorders program," said Research Foundation President Dr. Steven D. Wexner, Weston, FL.
