Society launches major website redesign

ASCRS Web siteBy David A. Margolin, MD
Chair, Website Committee

The Society has launched a new website, the first major redesign and enhancement of our web presence in eight years, with the purpose of incorporating newly available technologies to better serve three major groups of users: members, patients, and other physicians. We have added new content and vastly improved the site’s appearance and navigability.

Please go to www.fascrs.org and try it. You will find it much easier to find whatever you need – information about the 2015 Annual Meeting, a new member's only resource library, and an online member directory. It’s now much easier for members to pay their dues, register for the Annual Meeting, contact colleagues, and make referrals.

The site also features an improved "Find a Surgeon" locator as well as a host of educational resources for the public. Over the next few months, the site will continue to grow and expand as new material is added.

The new website is designed to work equally well on a desktop computer, tablet or smartphone. Roughly 25% of visitors are using a mobile device, and that appears to be increasing over time. Through this new mobile-friendly site, it will be much easier for users to visit the website and interact with ASCRS at their convenience.

Members of the Website Committee have tested and retested the new website, and they deserve our thanks for their time and commitment. We welcome your feedback regarding the new website. Please send comments and suggestions to damargolin@ochsner.org.
