ASCRS Members more than “Meet the Challenge” for Research Foundation at Hollywood Annual Meeting

The ASCRS Research Foundation raised $85,751 during the 10th annual "Meet the Challenge" program, held during the opening reception of the 2014 Annual Meeting in Hollywood, FL. The total raised surpasses the 2013 fundraiser by over $22,000.

Industry partners Applied Medical, Covidien, THD, Inc., and thirteen Regional Colon and Rectal Societies pledged a total of $38,050 for the 2014 fundraiser. The goal was for ASCRS members to match that amount, thereby raising $76,100 to support Research Foundation grants and awards.

  • Southern California Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons

Society members and Annual Meeting attendees contributed $47,701 for a total of $85,751.

"We are grateful to everyone who contributed. Proceeds will be used to support research programs in colon and rectal surgery, including Limited Project Grants, Career Development Awards, Medical Student and General Surgery Resident Research Initiation Grants, the International Fellowship and the Request for Proposal for Clinical Studies on Benign Colorectal Disorders program," said Research Foundation President Dr. Steven D. Wexner, Weston, FL.
