Supporters contribute $129,615 during 2010 Research Foundation Fundraiser

The Research Foundation raised $129,615 during the 6th annual “Meet the Challenge” program, surpassing its original goal by nearly $40,000.

Three corporate supporters – Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Covidien and Genzyme Biosurgery – agreed to pledge a total of $45,000 for the 2010 fundraiser.  The goal was for ASCRS members to match this amount, thereby raising $90,000 to support Research Foundation grants and awards.

Society members contributed $74,265 in cash donations and another $10,350 in pledges to the Foundation fundraiser, which raised nearly $130,000 for colorectal disease research.
